Pastries A-La Carte is a family owned business that began with the owner baking fresh, unique cakes right from her home. Due to the popularity of her products, she opened her own store front on April 9, 2004 and now boasts an extensive product line of pastries, pies, cakes, cupcakes, danishes, cheesecakes, specialty cookies and more. As the bakery continued to grow, an addition was added to the store front in the Fall of 2019.
For owner Kathy Battis, baking has been in her family for many years. Her great grandmother, Ada Rennie, began the tradition after coming to America from England in the early 1900's. Ms. Rennie's legacy was featured in article in a local newspaper article in 1968. The family tradition lives on with Pastries A-La-Carte and the variety of products that can be found throughout the region.
Pastries A-La Carte is featured through many famous and local establishments such as: Aramark (in association with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers), The Georgetown Centre, LeMont, Pasta Too, Tavern in the Hill, George Washington Hotel, University of Pittsburgh, Jefferson Hospital, South Hills Catering, Ham and Eggers, and more.
